Boy and girl meet during some summer beach party/cook out/outing. The summer boo is no longer a male trend. Women are picking up summer boos like its the new Chris Brown CD. August is here and P.O.S.H. has provided a few tips to let you know if you should start planning your fall appearances or dust the sands from your sheets and start moving on.
Sign #1: There's no September. If your new boo is tentative about discussing the future (as in, autumn), he/she may consider your situation to be strictly casual. That said, most budding relationships focus on the present rather than the future, because you're both figuring out if it's worth pursuing. So don't read too much into this one sign.
Sign #2: What friends? You and your new love are an island. You haven't met each other's social circle, and for now, you're cool with that. Yes, you have him/her all to yourself - great! But, sequestering you makes it very convenient for them to terminate your affair when it reaches its use-by date, which may have predetermined.
Sign #3: It's a one-track bond. Let's just say you wouldn't classify your current union as a meeting of the minds. In fact, while you totally dig each other's action between the sheets, you rarely connect when your clothes are on. This affair will burn fast and bright, so enjoy your lusty tryst. Just don't mistake hot sex for a growing romance if it's clear your chemistry is all about the booty.
Sign # 4: Your dates are site specific. You and your booski only meet up for events. Do these statements sound familiar? Meet me at so and so's pool party. I will catch you at XYZ's bbq. Ever wonder why the only time you have been to the crib is for a rendezvous? Do you only get to see late night movies and all your plans are at night? You might just be a summer boo.
Sign #5 You start to communicate only through text message and email. If Mr./Ms. Fancy Pants suddenly starts phasing out your long and late night convos it might be time to start taking a hint.
If this sounds like you take advantage of the fun times, don't get too attached and keep your options open.
Any other signs we might be missing?
